Take heed not to do your alms before men, to be seen of them; otherwise, ye have no reward of your Father who is in the heavens. But thou, when thou dost fast, anoint thine head, and wash thy face that thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who sees in secret, shall reward thee openly.
Behold, thou dost desire truth in the inward parts, and in the secret things thou hast made me to know wisdom.
