16 Bible Verses about Noting What Animals Eat

Whatever parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

And every beast that parteth the hoof, and cleaveth the cleft into two claws, and cheweth the cud among the beasts, that ye shall eat. Nevertheless, these ye shall not eat, of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean to you. And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, is unclean to you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.

Nevertheless, these shall ye not eat, of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean to you.

And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean to you.

And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof: he is unclean to you.

And the swine, though he divideth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

The carcasses of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not cloven-footed, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean to you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.

The oxen likewise and the young asses that plow the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crums which fall from their master's table.

And she answered and said to him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crums.

But the poor man had nothing save one little ewe-lamb, which he had bought and nourished: and it grew up together with him, and with his children: it fed of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was to him as a daughter.

And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpents' food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

And the LORD God said to the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field: upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.

And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat; and no man gave to him.
