With it we bless God even the Father; and with it we curse men, who are made after the likeness of God:
for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;
so that they are inexcusable; because having thus known God they glorified Him not as God, neither were they thankful; but were infatuated by their own reasonings, and their heart being void of understanding was darkened.
for the law made nothing perfect, but the introducing of a better hope did, by which we draw near to God.
Now if perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law) what farther need was there that another priest should arise after the order of Melchisedec, and not after the order of Aaron?
For the law having but a faint shadow of good things to come, and not the full image of the things, can never, even by the great annual sacrifices which they offer statedly, make the comers thereunto perfect.

till we all arrive in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, at perfect maturity, even to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
Wherefore omitting the discourse about the first principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us proceed to perfection: not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works,
Be ye therefore perfect in love and goodness, as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.
No one hath ever seen God: but if we love one another, God dwelleth in us and his love is perfected in us.
Having therefore, my beloved, these promises, let us purify ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
that ye may try things that differ, that ye may be sincere and without offence until the day of Christ;
that ye may be blameless and inoffensive, the children of God without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation; among whom ye shine as lights in the world,
Pure and uncorrupt religion before God and our Father is this, to take care of orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing ye expect these things, give diligence to be found of Him in peace, spotless and blameless;
that thou keep this commandment, unspotted and blameless, till the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ;
But whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: and by this we know that we are in Him.
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye would all say alike, and that there may be no schisms among you, but that ye be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same judgement.
And above all these put on love, which is the band of perfection.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy in you may continue, and that your joy may be full.
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth with great joy at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore my joy is complete.
Hitherto ye have asked for nothing in my name: ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
And the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
For now we know but in part, and we prophesy but in part. But when that which is perfect shall come, then that which is defective shall be laid aside. And I myself am indeed persuaded concerning you, my brethren, that ye are full of goodness, being filled with all knowledge, and able to admonish one another.

as to zeal persecuting the church, as to the righteousness of the law blameless: but those things,
