Then said Jesus, Let her alone, that she may keep it until the day of my burial.

For she, in pouring this ointment on my body, hath done it to prepare me for burial.

Then they took the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the manner of the Jews in preparing for burial.

And stooping down, he seeth the linen cloths lying; but he did not go in. Then cometh also Simon Peter following him, and he went into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying, and the napkin that was about his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded up in a place by itself.
