having been regenerated, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of the living God, which remains. "For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower of it falls down; but the word of the Lord remains forever." Now this is that word which has been proclaimed as glad tidings to you.

Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ, has been begotten by God; and every one who loves the begetter, loves also the begotten by him.

because, every one that is begotten by God, overcomes the world. And this is the victory which overcomes the world, even our faith.
