And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.
He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.read more.
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. And he said unto them, What have I done now in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of the grapes of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer? God hath delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb: and what was I able to do in comparison of you? Then their anger was abated toward him, when he had said that.
