Show honor to everyone. Practice love for the brotherhood; practice reverence to God and honor to the Emperor.

But you say, 'Whoever tells his father or mother, "Everything I have that might be used for helping you, is devoted to God," is under no obligation at all to help his parent.' You must practice honoring your father and mother. And you must love your neighbor as you do yourself."

You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery. Do not murder. Do not steal. Do not bear false witness. Practice honoring your father and mother.'"

Children, obey your parents, for this is right. "You must honor your father and mother" -- this is the first commandment, with a promise to make it good "so that you may prosper and live a long life on earth."

Children, practice obedience to your parents in everything, for this is acceptable in Christians.

Furthermore, we had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we used to treat them with respect; how much more cheerfully should we submit to the Father of our spirits, and live!

Just as the church is subject to Christ, so the married women in everything must be subject to their husbands. You married men must love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her,

You married women must continue to live in subordination to your husbands, for this is your Christian duty. You husbands must continue to love your wives and stop being harsh with them.

They were submissive to their husbands, as Sarah, for example, obeyed Abraham and called him master. You have become true daughters of hers, if you practice doing right and cease from every fear. You married men, in the same way, must live with your wives in an intelligent consideration of them; you must show them deference, too, as the weaker sex, as they share with you the gracious gift of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

After that some little children were brought to Him, for Him to lay His hands on them and pray for them, but His disciples reproved those who brought them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children alone, and stop preventing them from coming to me, for to such as these the kingdom of heaven belongs." And He laid His hands on them and left there.

And people were bringing little children to Him for Him to touch them, but the disciples reproved them for it. When Jesus saw it, He was indignant, and said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them from it, for to such as these the kingdom of God belongs. I solemnly say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God as a little child does, will never get into it at all."read more.
Then He took the little children into His arms, and as He laid His hands upon them one by one, He tenderly blessed them.

Now some people were bringing even their babies to Him to have Him touch them, but the disciples, when they saw it, reproved them for it. But Jesus called them to Him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and stop preventing them from it, for to such as these the kingdom of God belongs. I solemnly say to you, Whoever does not accept the kingdom of God as a little child does, will never get into it at all."

You parents, too, must stop exasperating your children, but continue to bring them up with the sort of education and counsel the Lord approves.

Children, practice obedience to your parents in everything, for this is acceptable in Christians. Fathers, stop exasperating your children, so as to keep them from losing heart.

So the pastor must be a man above reproach, must have only one wife, must be temperate, sensible, well-behaved, hospitable, skillful in teaching; not addicted to strong drink, not pugnacious, gentle and not contentious, not avaricious, managing his own house well, with perfect seriousness keeping his children under controlread more.
(if a man does not know how to manage his own house, how can he take care of a church of God?). He must not be a new convert, or else becoming conceited he may incur the doom the devil met. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, or else he may incur reproach and fall into the devil's trap. Deacons, too, must be serious, sincere in their talk, not addicted to strong drink or dishonest gain, but they must continue to hold the open secret of faith with a clear conscience. They, too, should first be tested till approved, and then, if they are found above reproach, they should serve as deacons. The deaconesses too must be serious, not gossips; they must be temperate and perfectly trustworthy.

Everybody must obey the civil authorities that are over him, for no authority exists except by God's permission; the existing authorities have been established by Him, so that anyone who resists the authorities sets himself against what God has established, and those who set themselves against Him will get the penalty due them. For civil authorities are not a terror to the man who does right, but they are to the man who does wrong. Do you want to have no dread of the civil authorities? Then practice doing right and you will be commended for it.read more.
For the civil authorities are God's servants to do you good. But if you practice doing wrong, you should dread them, for they do not wield the sword for nothing. Indeed, they are God's servants to inflict punishment upon people who do wrong. Therefore, you must obey them, not only for the sake of escaping punishment, but also for conscience' sake; for this is the reason why you pay your taxes, for the civil authorities are God's official servants faithfully devoting themselves to this very end. Pay all of them what is due them -- tribute to the officer to receive it, taxes to the officer to receive them, respect to the man entitled to it, and honor to the man entitled to it.

We beg you, brothers, to practice showing respect to those who labor among you, who are your leaders in the Lord's work, and who advise you;

Continue to obey and to be submissive to your leaders, for they are ever watching in defense of your souls, as men who will have to give account of their trust. Treat them in this way, so that they may work with joy and not with grief.

Never reprove an older man, but always appeal to him as a father. Treat younger men like brothers, older women like mothers, younger women like sisters, with perfect purity.
