For we who believed enter into the rest, as he hath said: "So I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest;" although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he hath spoken in a certain place of the seventh day thus: "And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;"

For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not after this be speaking of another day.

There remaineth therefore a sabbathrest to the people of God.

And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, Write, Blessed are the dead, who die in the Lord from henceforth. Yea, saith the Spirit, that they shall rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.

And he said to him, Truly do I say to thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise.

and when I have gone away and prepared a place for you, I will come again, and will take you to myself; that where I am, ye also may be.

but I am held in a strait by the two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; for it is far better;

then we who are living, we who are left, shall be caught up together with them in clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord. So then comfort one another with these words.

But thou hast a few names in Sardes which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sitteth on the throne will make his abode with them.

and are well pleased rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.

His lord said to him, Well done, good and faithful servant! thou hast been faithful over a little, I will place thee in charge of much; enter into the joy of thy lord.

And from the east and the west and the north and the south will men come, and take their places at table in the kingdom of God.

for the Lamb who is in the midst before the throne is a shepherd to them, and leadeth them to the fountains of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, coming out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. Between the street of the city and the river, on one side and on the other, is the tree of life, hearing twelve kinds of fruit, and yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

since it will be just with God to repay distress to them that distress you, and to you the distressed rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be manifested from heaven, with the angels of his might,

and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, the holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth? And a white robe was given to them, and it was said to them that they should rest yet for a time, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that were about to be killed as they were, should finish their course.

And I said to him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who come out of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Let us then fear, since a promise is still left us of entering into his rest, lest any one of you should appear to fail of obtaining it. For to us were glad tidings addressed, as well as to them; but the word which was heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. Since then it still remaineth for some to enter into it, and they to whom the glad tidings of it were first brought did not enter in because of disobedience, he again appointeth a certain day, "Today"saying in David so long a time after, as hath before been said"Today, if ye hear his voice, harden not your hearts." For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not after this be speaking of another day. There remaineth therefore a sabbathrest to the people of God. For he that hath entered into his rest, hath himself rested from his works, as God did from his own. Let us then strive to enter into that rest, that no one may fall, as a like example of disobedience.

and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall mourning, nor crying, nor pain he any more; for the former things are passed away.

for they cannot die any more; for they are like the angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

and not only so, but even we ourselves also, though having the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption as sons, for the redemption of our body.

Then will be the end, when he delivereth up the kingdom to God, the Father, when he shall have destroyed all dominion, and all authority, and power.

They shall hunger no more, nor thirst any more; neither shall the sun fall upon them, nor any burning heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst before the throne is a shepherd to them, and leadeth them to the fountains of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

And there shall be no more curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will serve him;

Let us then strive to enter into that rest, that no one may fall, as a like example of disobedience.
