Behold, these ungodly men, without being troubled by the world obtain riches.
for I feared thee because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that which thou didst not lay down and dost reap that which thou didst not sow.
But ye have despised the poor. Do not the rich oppress you with tyranny and draw you with violence to the courts? Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by which ye are called?
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.
And the messengers came again and said, Thus hath Benhadad said, Although I have sent unto thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver me thy silver and thy gold and thy wives and thy children,
The riches of vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathers by labour shall increase.
The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of those that seek death.
He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches and who gives to the rich shall surely come to want.

Woe unto those that devise iniquity and fabricate evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they put it into effect because they have power in their hands. Woe to him that covets ill-gotten gain by violence for his house that he may set his nest on high, that he may escape from the power of evil! Thou hast taken shameful counsel for thy house by cutting off many peoples and hast committed a sin against thy life. For the stone shall cry out from the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.
He that withholds the grain, the people shall curse him, but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.
Though he heaps up silver as the dust and prepares raiment as the clay, he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
Come now, Oh ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are rotten, and your garments are motheaten. In the house of the righteous is much provision, but in the fruit of the wicked is trouble.
The work of the righteous is unto life, but the fruit of the wicked is for sin.
There are those that make themselves rich, yet have nothing: there are those that make themselves poor, yet have great riches. The redemption of a man's life is his riches: but the poor does not hear rebuke.
Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. Better is a dinner of vegetables where love is than a fatted calf and hatred therewith.

But he, saddened by this word, went away grieved, for he had great possessions. Honour thy father and thy mother, and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man said unto him, All these things I have kept from my youth up; what do I lack? Jesus said unto him, If thou desire to be perfect, go and sell what thou hast and give it to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that word, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, It is difficult that a rich man shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens. And again I say unto you, It is easier to put a cable through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
And a certain prince asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why dost thou call me good? No one is good except one, that is, God.
