Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up what thou layedst not down, and reapest what thou didst not sow.

But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment-seats? Do they not blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

And the messengers came again, and said, Thus speaketh Ben-hadad, saying, Although I have sent to thee, saying, Thou shalt deliver to me thy silver, and thy gold, and thy wives, and thy children;

Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labor shall increase.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro by them that seek death.

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.

As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand. And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.read more.
In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a grievous lamentation, and say, We are utterly wasted: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and to him that ladeth himself with thick clay! Shall they not rise suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall disturb thee, and thou shalt be for booties to them? Because thou hast laid waste many nations, all the remnant of the people shall lay thee waste; because of men's blood, and for the violence of the land, of the city, and of all that dwell therein.read more.
Woe to him that coveteth an evil covetousness to his house, that he may set his nest on high, that he may be delivered from the power of evil! Thou hast consulted shame to thy house by cutting off many people, and hast sinned against thy soul. For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.

He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

Though he should heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay? He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.

Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.

Come now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have amassed treasure for the last days.

Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall encompass me? They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence;

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth, glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD who exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.

In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

The labor of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. The ransom of a man's life is his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

Better is little with the fear of the LORD, than great treasure and trouble with it. Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred with it.

For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.

Surely every man walketh in a vain show: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

But God said to him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?

But woe to you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

And again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly will they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
