Peter said to her, "Tell me, did you sell the land for such and such a sum?" She answered, "Yes, that is it." Peter said to her, "How could both of you agree in such a way to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door; they will carry you out, too."
Then why do you now try to test God by putting on these disciples' necks a yoke which neither our forefathers nor we could bear?
Let us stop trying the Lord's patience, as some of them did, and for it were destroyed by the snakes.
But your way of speaking must be a simple 'Yes' or 'No.' Anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

Jesus said to him, "Again the Scripture says, 'You must not try the Lord your God.'" Again the devil took him up on a very high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world, and their splendor, and said to Him, "Every bit of this I will give to you, if you will fall on your knees and worship me." Then Jesus said to him, "Be gone, Satan! For the Scripture says, 'You must worship the Lord your God, and serve Him alone.'" Then the devil left Him, and angels came and continued to wait upon Him.
And He stayed in the desert forty days, while He was being tempted by Satan; yea, He was with the wild beasts, but the angels continued to wait upon Him.
Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and for forty days He was led about in the desert under the Spirit's guidance, while He was being tempted by the devil. During that time He ate nothing, and so at the end of it He felt hungry. Then the devil said to Him, "If you are God's Son, order this stone to turn to a loaf of bread."read more.

And Jesus answered him, "It has been said, 'You must not try the Lord your God.'" After the devil had finished every sort of temptation, he left Him till another time.
But He turned and said to Peter, "Get out of my way, you Satan! You are a hindrance to me, for this view of yours is not from God but from men."
But He turned and glanced at His disciples and reproved Peter by saying, "Get out of my way, Satan, for this view of yours is not from God but from men!"
For we do not have a High Priest who is incapable of sympathizing with us in our weaknesses, but we have One who was tempted in every respect as we are, and yet without committing any sin.
You have put all things under His feet!" Now when He gave Him authority over everything, He did not leave a single thing that was not put under His authority. But as yet we do not see everything actually under His authority,
Do not be so afraid of what you are to suffer. See! The devil is going to throw some of you into prison to be tested there and for ten days to suffer pressing troubles. Each one of you must prove to be faithful, even if you have to die, and I will give you the crown of life.
Because you have kept my message with the patient endurance that I give you, I also will keep you from the time of testing that is about to come upon the whole world, to test the inhabitants of the earth.
Be calm and alert. Your opponent the devil is always prowling about like a roaring lion, trying to devour you.

but I have prayed especially for you that your own faith may not utterly fail. And you yourself, after you have turned, must strengthen your brothers."
No temptation has taken hold of you but what is common to human nature. And God is to be trusted not to let you be tempted beyond your strength, but when temptation comes, to make a way out of it, so that you can bear up under it.
surely, then, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from trial and to keep wrongdoers under punishment for the day of judgment,
For inasmuch as He has suffered Himself by being tempted, He is able to give immediate help to any that are tempted.
