Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
What is man, that he should be clean? And what is he born of a woman that he should be righteous?

For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
If they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin), and if You are angry with them and deliver them up before their enemies, and they carry them away captives to a land far off or near,
But we are all as the unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as a menstruation cloth. And we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
O Jehovah, the God of Israel, You are righteous. For we are left a remnant that has escaped, as today. Behold, we are before You in our sins, for we cannot stand before You because of this.
O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us the shame of our faces, as it is today to the men of Judah and to the people of Jerusalem, and to all Israel who are near and who are afar off, through all the countries where You have driven them because of their sin which they have sinned against You.
When I take the appointed time, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all its people are melting away; I hold up its pillars. Selah. I said to the proud, Do not boast; and to the wicked, Do not lift up the horn;
So says Jehovah, Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Jehovah.
For I say to you that unless your righteousness shall exceed that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.
Jehovah has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has unveiled to the eyes of the nations.
I bring near My righteousness. It shall not be far off, and My salvation shall not wait; and I will place salvation in Zion, My glory for Israel.
My righteousness is near; My salvation has gone out, and My arms shall judge peoples; the coastlands shall wait on Me, and on My arm they shall trust.
So says Jehovah, Do not let the wise glory in his wisdom, nor let the mighty glory in his might; do not let the rich glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am Jehovah, doing kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth; for in these I delight, says Jehovah.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
And by Him all who believe are justified from all things, from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who of God is made to us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption;
For He has made Him who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness out of faith.
For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,
And standing afar off, the tax-collector would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but struck on his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner! I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.
Then where is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.
so that, according as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the Lord."
For who makes you to differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
If it is right to boast, I will boast of the things of my weakness.
And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may overshadow me.
For they themselves, having been circumcised, do not even keep the Law, but they desire you to be circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh. But may it never be for me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.
But whatever things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung, so that I may win Christ and be found in Him; not having my own righteousness, which is of the Law, but through the faith of Christ, the righteousness of God by faith,
