I will rise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee,

But he that hath any scruple, is condemned if he eat; because he doth it not with faith: and whatsoever is not of faith, is sin.

whereas without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe, that He is, and is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doth evil, hateth the light; and he cometh not to the light, least his deeds should be reproved.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart produceth good things; and a wicked man out of the wicked treasure uttereth wicked things:

A good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man, out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Every one that committeth sin, transgresseth the law; for sin is the violation of the law.

Now the law worketh wrath; for where there is no law, there is no transgression.

and yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned after the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is the type of Him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift: for if through the offence of one many died, much more hath the grace of God, and the gift bestowed by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. For whosoever shall keep the whole law besides, but offend in one point, he is under the penalty of all: for He that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou do not commit adultery, but committest murder, thou art a transgressor of the law.

And his lord being highly provoked delivered him to the officers, till he should pay all that was owing to him. Thus will my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye forgive not every one his brother from your hearts their trespasses.

for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;

how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself spotless to God, purify your conscience from dead works, that ye may serve the living God?

To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doth it not, to him it is sin.

who though they knew the just judgement of God, (that they who commit such practises are worthy of death) yet not only do these very things, but also countenance and encourage others in the practice of them.

but he that knew it not, and did things deserving stripes, shall be beaten with few: for to whomsoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will demand the more.

And now, brethren, I know that ye did it through ignorance, as did also your rulers:

who before was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and an oppressor. But I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief: and the grace of our Lord superabounded,
