Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valor, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, except the poorest sort of the people of the land.
But the captain of the guard left some of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and farmers.

You shall also take some of them, and bind them in your garments. Then take some of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for from there shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, says the LORD, two parts in it shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left in it.
