Our friends, we should thank God at all times for you. It is right for us to do so, because your faith is growing so much and the love each of you has for the other abounds toward each other.
Yet, the righteous person clings to his way, and the one with clean hands grows stronger.
The path of the righteous is like the shining light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the more perfect day.
Be diligent and think about these things. Give yourself wholly to them. That way your progress may be apparent to all.
Yes, for this very reason you do your part with all diligence. Supply virtue to your faith. Add knowledge to your virtue. Include self-control with your knowledge. Supply patience to your self-control. Your patience should be helped by godliness. Add brotherly kindness to your godliness. And to your brotherly kindness add love.
Remain with me, and I with you. The branch cannot bear fruit by itself. It must remain on the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain with me.
By speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in all things to him. For he, Christ, is the head.
I request (urge) (implore) you brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this world (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement). But be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Prove what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
Put on (live like) (clothe yourself with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make provision for the desires of the flesh.
Be followers (imitators) of me, even as I also am of Christ.
For as many of you who were baptized into Christ put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ.
I want to know him and the power of his resurrection. I want to know the fellowship of his sufferings and become conformed to his death.
You imitated the Lord and us, even though you suffered much affliction. Yet you received the word with the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit.
For this you were called because Christ also suffered for you. He left you an example (a copy for imitation) (a model) that you should follow in his steps.
He that says he lives in union with him should walk as he walked.
I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
Watch and pray continually that you do not enter into temptation!
Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent for a time. That way you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. Then come together again, that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man. God is faithful and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your limits. He will make a way out, that you will be able to endure it.
For this cause, when I could no longer bear it, I inquired about your faith. I feared that the tempter might have tempted you, and our labor would be in vain.
Since he has suffered and was tested in every way; he is able to help those who are being tested.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials. Know that the testing of your faith produces patience (endurance).
Because you have kept the word of my patience (endurance), I also will keep you from the hour of testing. This will come upon the whole world to test (scrutinize) (discipline) (examine) those who dwell on the earth.
Fight the good fight of the faith! Lay hold on everlasting life! You were called and confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
God deals with you like children. Endure discipline (instruction) (training). Who is the child whom a father does not discipline? If you are without discipline, you are illegitimate children, and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh that corrected us, and we gave them respect. Shall we not much more be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?read more.
They disciplined us for a few days for their own pleasure. He disciplines for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no discipline for the present seems to be joyous. In fact it seems grievous! Nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained.
I counsel you to buy gold from me, gold purified by fire, so that you may be rich; and white clothing, so that you may be clothed. In this way the shame of your nakedness will not appear. And anoint your eyes with eye salve, so that you may see. I reprove and discipline those whom I love: be zealous therefore, and repent.
But you must remain strong and not become discouraged. Your actions will be rewarded.
Tell the discouraged ones with anxious heart: Be strong and do not be afraid! God is coming to your rescue! He is coming to punish your enemies.
Be strong Zerubbabel, said Jehovah. Be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, said Jehovah. Work! I am with you, said Jehovah of Hosts.
Be alert (be watchful) and stand fast (be vigilant) (persevere) in the faith, carry on as men (be courageous), be strong. (Ps 31:24)
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty strength.
You therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace (loving-kindness) that is in Christ Jesus.
Do not get drunk with wine, for that is a public act of violence, but be filled with the Spirit.

For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine. Having their ears tickled, they will accumulate teachers who follow after their own lusts.
At this time you should be teachers. But you need someone to teach you again from the beginning the elementary truths from the Word of God. You need milk, not solid food.
Like newborn infants, long for the spiritual milk that is without deception to help you grow to salvation.
The child grew and became spiritually strong. He lived in the deserts till the time came to show himself to Israel.
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faith, meekness (mildness), self-control; against such there is no law.
Grow in the unmerited favor and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
We all, with unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the glory of God and are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, exactly as from God's Spirit.

Hold firmly to the true words that I taught you, as the example for you to follow. Remain in the faith and love that are ours in union with Christ Jesus.
He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity. He who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. This requires the patience and the faith of the holy ones.
