I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in me, and I in him, beareth much fruit: but without me ye can do nothing. If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a useless branch and withereth: and they gather them up, and throw them into the fire, and they are burnt. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask what ye will, and it shall be granted you.read more.

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat; for ye were not hitherto able to bear it, nor yet are ye even now able. Because ye are still carnal: for while there is among you envy and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk as men?
My brethren, be not children in sense: but in malice be infants, and in your judgements shew yourselves to be men.
For every one that wanteth milk, is unacquainted with the doctrine of justification; for he is an infant: but firm food is for persons come to age, who by habit have their senses exercised to a discernment both of good and evil.
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in any fault, do ye, who are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, least thou also shouldst be tempted.
Receive him that is weak in the faith, but not to disputes about doubtful matters: for one believeth that he may eat any food; another, who is weak, liveth upon herbs. Let not him, that eateth, despise him that eateth not; and let not him, that eateth not, censure him that eateth: for God hath received him.
But see that this liberty of yours be not by any means a stumbling-block to the weak. For if any one see thee, who hast knowledge, at table in an idol's temple, will not the conscience of him that is weak be encouraged to eat of the things sacrificed to idols? and so the weak brother, for whom Christ died, shall perish by thy knowledge?read more.
But in thus sinning against your brethren, and wounding their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ: wherefore if meat make my brother to offend, I will never eat flesh while I breathe, least I make my brother to offend.
But as it is written, "Eye hath not seen, and ear hath not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for those that love Him." But God hath revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, even the deep things of God. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may experience what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
What! know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price. Glorify God therefore in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
And they, that are Christ's, have crucified the flesh with it's passions and desires.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ sitteth at the right hand of God. Mind the things above, not those on the earth.
and if ye keep my commandments ye will continue in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and continue in his love.
And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have known Him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.read more.
But whosoever keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: and by this we know that we are in Him. He that saith, he abideth in Him, ought himself also so to walk even as He walked.

as ye know likewise, how we exhorted and comforted every one of you, as a father his children; and charged you, that ye should walk worthy of God, who hath called you to his kingdom and glory.
Account it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various trials: knowing this, that the trial of your faith worketh patience; but let patience have it's perfect work, that ye may be entirely perfect, failing in nothing.
And not only so, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience,
In which ye rejoice, tho' now for a little while, if need be, ye are grieved through various trials. That the proof of your faith, which is much more precious than of gold, (that perisheth, though tried by fire) may be found unto praise, and honor, and glory, when Jesus Christ shall be revealed:
And having removed him, He raised up David for their king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will perform all my will.
