And ye shall be hated of all men for my name, but he that endures to the end shall be saved.
And ye shall be hated by everyone for my name, but he that shall persevere unto the end, the same shall be saved.
But keep yourselves from men, for they will deliver you up in councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
Therefore, behold, I send unto you prophets and wise men and scribes, and some of them ye shall kill and crucify, and some of them ye shall scourge in your synagogues and persecute them from city to city,
Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents and brethren and kinsfolk and friends, and some of you they shall cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to remain in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
And all that desire to live godly in Christ Jesus shall also suffer persecution.
For unto you it is granted regarding Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake,
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer; behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days; be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.

but having suffered before and having been shamefully treated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to announce unto you the gospel of God with much diligence.
And it seems strange to those that speak evil of you, that ye do not run with them to the same unchecked dissolution;
But bring to memory the former days, in which, after ye received the light, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; on the one hand ye were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and on the other ye became companions of those that were so used. And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples and said, Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are those that hunger now, for ye shall be filled. Blessed are those that weep now, for ye shall laugh. Blessed are ye when men shall hate you and when they shall separate you from their company and shall reproach you and cast out your name as evil for the sake of the Son of man.read more.
Rejoice ye in that day and leap for joy; for, behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers treated the prophets in the same manner.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
Therefore be not thou ashamed to give testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel by the power of God,
For this is due to grace, if a man for conscience toward God endures grief, suffering wrongfully.
For it is better (if the will of God so desires) that ye suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
Beloved, think it not strange when you are tried by fire (which is done to prove you) as though some strange thing happened unto you, but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of the afflictions of the Christ, so that also in the revelation of his glory, ye may rejoice in triumph. So let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as desirous of the things of others. But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God on this behalf.
If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?
If ye were of the world, the world would love its own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
I have given them thy word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
and if sons, also heirs certainly of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him that we may be also glorified together with him.
From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
so that we ourselves glory in you in the congregations of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure and in testimony of the just judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer,
It is true that no chastening at present seems to be cause for joy, but rather for grief; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto those who are exercised by it.

Behold, for peace I had great bitterness; but it has pleased thee to deliver my life from the pit of corruption, for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

Those that sow with tears shall reap with joy. He that goes forth and weeps, bearing the precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that prisons and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me, neither do I count my life dear unto myself, only that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
For I think that God has set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death; for we are made a spectacle unto the world and to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. and labour, working with our own hands; being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it; being blasphemed, we intreat; we are made as the filth of this world and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For in the same manner that the sufferings of the Christ abound in us, so also our consolation abounds by Christ.
