Then he said to his disciples, "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

But take care that this liberty of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. For if a man sees you, who have knowledge, at table in an idol's temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be encouraged to eat food sacrificed to idols? Thus, sinning against your brethren and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food causes my brother to fall, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause my brother to fall.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart.

Be sober, be alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren throughout the world.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
