And immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue loosed, and he continued to speak distinctly.
And many multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deaf, the maimed, and many others, and laid them down at the feet of Jesus; and He healed them: so that the multitudes were astonished, seeing the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking about, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.
And all marveled. And his mouth immediately opened and his tongue loosed, and he continued to speak, praising God.
But if any one seems to be religious, bridling not his own tongue, but deceiving his own heart, the religion of that man is vain.
For let the one wishing to love life, and to see good days, cease his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking guile:
Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue was glad, and my flesh shall indeed still rest in hope,
With it we bless the Lord, even the Father; and with it we scold the people, who have been made after the image of God:
Place it in your hearts, not to premeditate your defense: for I will give to you mouth and wisdom, which all who are opposed to you will not be able to gainsay nor resist.

The tongue, a fire, the world of iniquity: the tongue sits down in the midst of our members, and corrupting the whole body, and setting on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire from hell. For every nature both of wild beasts, and of birds, and of creeping things, and of oceanic animals, is subdued, and has been subjugated to human nature: but no one of men is able to tame the tongue; an incorrigible evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless the Lord, even the Father; and with it we scold the people, who have been made after the image of God: out of the same mouth come forth blessing and scolding. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
