And I stood upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns ten crowns, and upon its heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and its feet were as the feet of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority.
And I saw one of its heads as it were wounded to death; and its deadly wound was healed; and all the earth marveled, and followed the beast.
And there was given unto it a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto it to continue forty and two months. And it opened its mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those that dwell in heaven.
And here is the meaning which has wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sits. And they are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he comes, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, is also the eighth king, and is of the seven, and goes into perdition.read more.
And the ten horns which thou hast seen are ten kings, which have not yet taken a kingdom, but shall take authority as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind and shall give their power and authority unto the beast.
And another angel followed, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has given all the Gentiles to drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
I will declare the decree; the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day I have begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the Gentiles for thine inheritance and unto the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
