And he was seeking to see Jesus--who he was--and he was not able to as a result of the crowd, because he was short in stature.
You are not greater than our father Abraham who died, [are you]? And the prophets died! Who do you make yourself [to be]?"
So they began to say to him, "Who are you?" Jesus said to them, "{What} I have been saying to you [from] the beginning.
So he said, "Who are you, Lord?" And he [said], "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting!
And I answered, 'Who are you, Lord?' And he said to me, 'I am Jesus the Nazarene whom you are persecuting.'
So I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' And the Lord said, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
Jesus said to them, "Come, eat breakfast!" But none of the disciples dared to ask him, "Who are you?" [because they] knew that it was the Lord.
And he said to them, "But who do you say [that] I am?" And Peter answered [and] said, "The Christ of God."
And [when] he entered into Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, "Who is this?"
And {they were terribly frightened} and began to say to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
And he said to them, "Where [is] your faith?" But they were afraid [and] were astonished, saying to one another, "Who then is this, that he commands even the winds and the water and they obey him?"
And Herod said, "John I beheaded, but who is this about whom I hear such things?" And he was wanting to see him.
Then the crowd replied to him, "We have heard from the law that the Christ remains {forever}! And how do you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?"
And those who were reclining at the table with [him] began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who is able to forgive sins except God alone?"
Now [when] Jesus came to the region of Caesarea {Philippi}, he began asking his disciples, saying, "Who do people say [that] the Son of Man is?"
And Jesus and his disciples went out to the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and on the way he asked his disciples, saying to them, "Who do people say [that] I am?"
And it happened that while he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, saying, "Who do the crowds say [that] I am?"
[and] said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
sent [them] to the Lord, saying, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
And [when] the men came to him, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you, saying, 'Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?'"
And Pilate asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?" And he answered him [and] said, "You say [so]."
And Pilate asked him, saying, "Are you the king of the Jews?" And he answered him [and] said, "You say [so]."
Then Pilate said to him, "So then you are a king!" Jesus replied, "You say that I am a king. For this [reason] I was born, and for this reason I have come into the world: in order that I can testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."
But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to him, "I put you under oath by the living God, that you tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God!"
But he was silent and did not reply anything. Again the high priest asked him and said to him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"
saying, "If you are the Christ, tell us!" But he said to them, "If I tell you, you will never believe,
And all the crowds were amazed and began saying, "Perhaps this one is the Son of David!"
So the Jews surrounded him and began to say to him, "{How long will you keep us in suspense}? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly!"
So they all said, "Are you then the Son of God?" And he said to them, "You say that I am."
And the tempter approached [and] said to him, "If you are the Son of God, order that these stones become bread."
and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down! For it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you,' and 'On [their] hands they will lift you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.'"
and saying, "The one who would destroy the temple and rebuild [it] in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!"
So the devil said to him, "If you are the Son of God, order this stone that it become bread!"
And he brought him to Jerusalem, and had him stand on the highest point of the temple and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here,
investigating for what [person] or which time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating [when he] testified beforehand to the sufferings with reference to Christ and the glories after these [things],
