For by grace are you saved through the faith; and that not of you; [it is] the gift of God; not of works, that no one may boast;
who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his purpose and grace given us in Christ Jesus from eternity,
but when the goodness and philanthropy of the Saviour our God appeared, not by works of righteousness which we did but according to his mercy he saved us through the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,

But we desire each of you to show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end, that you be not stupid, but followers of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
So also faith, if it has not works, is dead, being alone. But some one will say, You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by works. You believe that there is one God? You do well; demons also believe and tremble.read more.
But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith cooperated with his works, and by works was faith made perfect, and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, And Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him a righteousness, and he was called God's friend. You see then that a man is justified by works and not by faith only. And in like manner also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? For as the body without a spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Let us not be weary of well doing; for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.
Masters, render to your servants what is just and equal, knowing also that you have a master in heaven.
presenting yourself as an example of good works in all things, in teaching [exhibiting] integrity, gravity, sound argument not to be condemned, that the adversary may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of us.
