For our short and light affliction is working out for us an infinite and eternal weight of glory, as we aim not at the things which are visible, but invisible: for those, which are visible, are temporary, but the invisible are eternal.
And I account the sufferings of this present time not worthy to be set against the glory that shall be revealed to us.
Happy is the man who sustaineth temptation; for being approved he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.

And least I should be too much lifted up with the abundance of the revelations, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, least I should be too much elevated. For this I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is manifested in thy weakness." And therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, and in straits for the sake of Christ: for when I am thus weak, then am I made strong.

However do not look upon him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
