And in Iconium they went together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake that a great multitude both of the Jews and Greeks believed.

And departing from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia; and going into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, they sat down. And after the reading of the law and the prophets, the chief of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation to the people, speak. Then Paul standing, and waving his hand, said, Ye men of Israel, and ye that fear God, hearken.

But the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night to Berea, who coming thither, went into the synagogue of the Jews.

He therefore discoursed in the synagogue to the Jews and the devout persons, and in the market-place daily to those whom he met with.

And he discoursed in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and Greeks.

he spake boldly, for three months discoursing and evincing the things concerning the kingdom of God.

And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine is, which is spoken by thee? For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears; we would therefore know, what these things mean? (For all the Athenians, and the strangers sojourning there, spent their time in nothing else, but telling or hearing some new thing.)read more.
Then Paul standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that ye are greatly addicted to the worship of invisible powers. For as I passed along and beheld the objects of your worship, I found an altar, on which was inscribed, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD: him therefore whom ye worship without knowing him, I proclaim unto you.

Then came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison, are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

And as he talked with him, he went in and found many come together. And he said to them, Ye know it is unlawful for a Jew to join with or come to one of another nation; but God hath shewed me, to call no man common or unclean.

And we abode in that city certain days. And on the sabbath we went out of the city, by the river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and sitting down, we spake to the women who were come together.

But when some were hardened, and would not believe, but spake reproachfully of the way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, discoursing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

And having set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Then Peter filled with the Holy Ghost, said to them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we are examined this day, of the benefit done to the impotent man,read more.
by what means he is healed, Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God hath raised from the dead, by him doth this man stand before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought by you builders, which is become the head of the corner. And there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Then said the high priest, Are these things so? And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, being in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, And said to him,

Then Paul, after the governor had made a sign to him to speak, answered, Knowing thou hast been for several years a judge to this nation, I the more chearfully answer for myself:

Then Agrippa said to Paul, It is permitted thee to speak for thyself.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life: For the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify and declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us: That which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ:

But Jesus suffered him not, but said to him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

And many of the Samaritans out of that city believed on him, for the saying of the woman testifying, He told me all that ever I did.

I indeed thought myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth: Which also I did in Jerusalem: and having received authority from the chief priests, I shut up many of the saints in prisons, and when they were killed, I gave my vote against them. And frequently punishing them in all the synagogues, I compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.read more.
Whereupon as I was going to Damascus, with authority and commission from the chief priests, At mid-day, O king, I saw in the way, a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round me and them that journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen down to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the goads. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. For how knowest thou, O wife, but thou mayst save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O husband, but thou mayst save thy wife?

In like manner, ye wives, be subject to your own husbands, that if any obey not the word, they also may, without the word, be won by the conversation of the wives, Beholding your chaste conversation joined with fear:

And the day following they entered into Cesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them, having called together his kinsmen and near friends. And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and falling down at his feet, worshiped him.

And Levi made him a great entertainment, in his own house; and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

And he spake boldly in the synagogue. And Aquila and Priscilla hearing him, took him to their house, and explained to him the way of God more perfectly.

And Paul continued two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came to him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching the things that relate to the Lord Jesus Christ, with all freedom of speech, no man forbidding him.

And Ananias went and entered into the house, and putting his hands on him, said, Brother Saul, the Lord hath sent me, Jesus who appeared to thee in the way thou camest, that thou mayst recover thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law,

And they spake the word of the Lord to him and to all that were in his house. And taking them that very hour of the night, he washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his houshold. And having brought them up into his house, he set a table before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with his whole house.

And from thence to Philippi, which is the first city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony.

And taking their journey through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.

And they that conducted Paul, brought him as far as Athens, and having received an order to Silas and Timothy, to come to him with all speed, they departed.

After these things, Paul departing from Athens, came to Corinth.

And he came to Ephesus, and left him there; but he himself going into the synagogue, reasoned with the Jews.

And the night following, the Lord standing by him, said, Be of good courage, Paul: for as thou hast testified the things concerning me at Jerusalem, so thou must testify at Rome also.

Where finding brethren, we were intreated to tarry with them seven days, and so we went toward Rome.

But I have striven, so to preach the gospel, not where Christ had been named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation.

Not boastingly extending ourselves beyond our measure, in the labours of others; but having hope, now your faith is increased, to be inlarged by you, yet still within our province, abundantly, So as to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, not to boast in another's province of things made ready to our hand.

And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized.

For if indeed I have done wrong, and have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there is nothing of the things whereof these accuse me, no man can give me up to them. I appeal to Cesar. Then Festus, having conferred with the council answered, Hast thou appealed to Cesar? To Cesar shalt thou go.

And Paul, stretching forth his hand, made his defence. I think myself happy, King Agrippa, that I am this day to make my defence before thee, concerning all those things whereof I am accused by the Jews, Who art accurately acquainted with all the customs and questions which are among the Jews, wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

And near that place was the estate of the chief man of the island, named Publius, who receiving us into his house, entertained us courteously three days. Now the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and bloody flux; to whom Paul went in, and having prayed, laid his hands on him and healed him.

And having brought them up into his house, he set a table before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with his whole house.

So the father knew, it was at the same hour, in which Jesus had said to him, Thy son liveth. And himself believed, and his whole house.

And Jesus wrought many other miracles also, in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye may have life thro' his name.

Forasmuch as many have undertaken to compose a narrative of the facts which have been fully confirmed among us, Even as they who were eye-witnesses and ministers of the word from the beginning, delivered them to us: It seemed good to me also, having accurately traced all things from their first rise, to write unto thee in order, most noble Theophilus,read more.
That thou mayst know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

The former treatise have I composed, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach, Until the day he was taken up, after having thro' the Holy Ghost given commandment to the apostles, whom he had chosen:

But having obtained help from God, I continue till this day, testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what both the prophets and Moses have declared should be, That the Christ having suffered, and being the first who rose from the dead, should shew light to the people and to the Gentiles.

Then Philip opening his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

To him give all the prophets witness, that every one who believeth in him, shall receive forgiveness of sins through his name.

And having removed him, he raised up to them David for their king, to whom also bearing witness he said, I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, who will do all my will. Of this man's seed hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus;

Which he had promised before, by his prophets in the holy scriptures, Concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord,

according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, (according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began, But now made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God,

For I delivered to you first, that which I also received, That Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures, And that he was buried, and that he was raised the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.

And the people with one accord gave heed to the things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

And these signs shall follow them that believe: in my name they shall cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues: They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them: they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat on the right-hand of God.read more.
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following.

And beholding the man who had been healed, standing with them, they had nothing to say against it.

And this was done for the space of two years, so that all the inhabitants of Asia, both Jews and Greeks, heard the word of the Lord. And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul, So that handkerchiefs or aprons were carried from his body to the sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits came out of them.

And my speech and my preaching was not with the persuasive words of human wisdom, but with the demonstration of the Spirit and of power. That your faith might not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation, which began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by them that had heard him? God also bearing them witness by signs, and wonders, and various miracles, and distributions of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God. And they knew him, that this was he who had sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple, and were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had befallen him. And as he held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them, in the portico that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.read more.
And Peter seeing it, answered the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or, why do ye fix your eyes on us, as if by our own power or piety, we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up, and renounced him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to release him. But ye renounced the holy one and the just, and desired a murderer to be granted you. But ye killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead, whereof we are witnesses. And his name, thro' faith in his name, hath strengthened this man, whom ye see and know; yea, the faith which is by him, hath given him this perfect soundness, in the presence of you all.

And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded, because every man heard them speaking in his own language. And they were amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?read more.
And how hear we every one, in our own native language? Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and dwellers in Mesopotamia, and Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Africk about Cyrene, and Roman sojourners, (Jews and Proselytes) Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God? And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What can this mean? But others mocking, said, They are full of sweet wine. Then Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said to them, Men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known to you, and hearken to my words.

And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, having been a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. This man heard Paul speaking; who fixing his eyes upon him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet.read more.
And he leaped and walked. But the multitude, seeing what Paul had done, lifted up their voice, saying, in the Lycaonian language, The gods are come down to us, in the likeness of men.

And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. And the jailor awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the doors of the prison opened, drew his sword, and was going to kill himself, supposing the prisoners were fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm; for we are all here.read more.
Then he called for lights, and sprang in, and trembling, fell down before Paul and Silas. And having brought them out he said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and thou shalt be saved and thy houshold.

But Peter, having put them all out, kneeled down and prayed; and turning to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and seeing Peter, sat up. And giving her his hand, and having called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. And it was known through all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

Many therefore of the Jews who were come to Mary, and had seen the things, which Jesus had done, believed on him.

And he found there a certain man named Eneas, who had kept his bed eight years, being ill of a palsy. And Peter said to him, Eneas, Jesus Christ healeth thee. Arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. And all that dwelt in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and turned to the Lord.

and fixing his eyes upon him, said, O full of all guile and all mischief, thou son of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? And now behold the hand of the Lord is upon thee; and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately a mist and darkness fell upon him, and going about, he sought some to lead him. Then the proconsul, seeing what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.

And hearing this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? And Peter said, Repent, and be baptized every one of you, in the name of Jesus, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call.read more.
And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation. Then they, gladly receiving his word, were baptized; and there were added to them that day about three thousand souls.

But many of them who had heard the word, believed. And the number of the men was about five thousand.
