Then he said to them, go ye into all parts of the world, and preach the gospel to all mankind.
and how shall they hear without a preacher? and how shall they preach except they be sent? as it is written, "how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"
to be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, officiating the gospel of God, that the Gentiles might be made an acceptable offering, being sanctified by the holy spirit.

but when it pleased God, who ordained me from my birth, and called me by his especial favour, to reveal his son to me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not thereupon apply my self to any man;
having revealed to me the secret, I now mention'd in short, by the reading whereof you may perceive how far I am let into the secret of Christ. which preceeding was not discover'd to men, as now it is to his holy apostles and prophets by the spirit; to wit,read more.

upon me, who am the meanest of all christians, is this favour bestowed, that I should proclaim to the Gentiles the undiscoverable advantages by Christ;
the angel replied, I am Gabriel, who attend in the presence of God, and am sent to communicate to you this agreeable message.
but the angel said to them, be not afraid, I am only come to bring you great news, which will be matter of joy to you and to the whole world.
he address'd himself to them all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water; but there is one coming, who is superiour to me, whose shoes I am unworthy to untie: he shall baptize you with the holy spirit, under the appearance of fire. and with the fan in his hand he will thoroughly cleanse his floor, and will lay up the wheat in his grainery: but the chaff he will burn with inextinguishable fire. many other things he delivered to the people in his exhortations.
some of them were of Cyprus and Cyrene, and upon their arrival at Antioch they address'd themselves to the Greeks, and preach'd to them the Lord Jesus.

After this Jesus went about, preaching to every city and village, proclaiming the reign of the Messias, attended by his twelve apostles,
but when they had embraced the doctrine of Philip, concerning the kingdom of the Messias, and the authority of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
"the spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to proclaim the favourable year of the Lord."
art thou he that was to come, or must we expect another? Jesus answered them, go and relate to John, what you hear and what you see: the blind recover their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
accordingly they came to Jesus, and said, John the Baptist sent us to enquire, if you are he that was to come, or must we look for another? at that very time, he cured several of their diseases and distempers, dispossessing evil spirits, and restoring sight to many that were blind. then he gave them this answer, go, and tell John what you have seen, and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the gospel is proclaim'd to the poor.
and every day either in the temple or in private houses they continued to preach and proclaim Jesus to be the Christ.
then Philip enter'd upon the subject, and show'd how the whole passage was applicable to Jesus.
however Saul still gain'd ground, and confounded the Jews of Damascus, proving that Jesus was the Messias.
to you therefore we declare, that the promise which God had made to the fathers, he has now perform'd to us, who are their children, by his having raised up Jesus again. agreeable to what is written in the first psalm, "thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee."
which God had promised by his prophets in the holy scriptures, with relation to his son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was of the lineage of David as to his body, but as to his holy spirit miraculously declared to be the son of God, by his resurrection from the dead:
I acquainted you chiefly with what I received myself, that Christ died for our sins, as the scriptures foretold: that he was buried, and rose again the third day, as the scriptures foretold:
ye men of Israel attend to what I say; Jesus of Nazareth was a man whom God distinguished among you, by miracles, by prodigies, and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as you your selves also know: him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by means of the wicked, have crucified and slain: whom God hath raised up, having delivered him from the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be overpower'd by it.
but killed the prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
there certain Epicurean and Stoick philosophers encountred him: "what does this mountebank mean?" said some: "he seems to proclaim some strange deitys," said others: because he talk'd to them of Jesus and the resurrection.
and if Christ be not risen, then our preaching is empty talk, and your faith even meer amusement.
we preach Christ crucified, an obstacle to the Jews indeed, and to the Gentiles foolishness: but to those who believe,
Remember that Jesus Christ, who is of the posterity of David, is raised from the dead, according to my gospel,
for I am not ashamed of the gospel, since it is divinely effectual to salvation, to everyone that believes, to the Jew first, and then to the Gentile. There it is that divine justification is revealed to be wholly by faith: as it is written, " the just shall live by faith."
for whereas the world, with all their learning, did not distinguish the characters of his divine wisdom, in his works, it pleased God to save those who believe, by preaching, which they counted folly.
What I have explain'd to you, my brethren, is the gospel which I preached to you, which you have received, and wherein you have persisted: by which also you will be saved, if you so retain it as I preached it to you, unless you have believed without sufficient grounds.
by whom you also have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: and having believed in him, ye were mark'd with the seal of the holy spirit, which was promised:
As for you, my brethren, the favourites of the Lord, we are oblig'd to render perpetual thanks to God, for having chosen you from the beginning, in purifying you by his spirit, upon your believing the gospel. to this he has called you, to a life of glory with our Lord Jesus Christ.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preach'd in his name, among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
from that time Jesus began to preach, "Repent, said he, for the kingdom of the Messiah draws nigh."
the men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment against this generation, and shall condemn it, because they were converted at the preaching of Jonas, and now there is one superiour to Jonas here.
the people of Nineve shall rise up in the day of Judgment, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; but now, a greater than Jonas is here.
accordingly, John baptized in the desart, and preach'd the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins.
