'Acted' in the Bible

Let the proud be ashamed; for they have acted perversely towards me with falsehood: as for me, I meditate in thy precepts.

Above all my teachers I have acted wisely. For Thy testimonies are my meditation.

I have acted with justice and righteousness; do not abandon me to my oppressors.

And I have also seen the wicked buried and going away; and such as had acted rightly went from the holy place, and were forgotten in the city. This also is vanity.

For Jerusalem has stumbledand Judah has fallenbecause they have spoken and acted against the Lord,defying His glorious presence.

"Sing praises to the LORD, because he has acted gloriously, being made known in all the world.

The princes of Zoan have acted foolishly,The princes of Memphis are deluded;Those who are the cornerstone of her tribesHave led Egypt astray.

What can I say? He has decreed and acted. I will walk slowly all my years because I am overcome with grief.

Rejoice, heavens, for the Lord has acted;shout, depths of the earth.Break out into singing, mountains,forest, and every tree in it.For the Lord has redeemed Jacob,and glorifies Himself through Israel.

For the shepherds have become brutish, And Jehovah they have not sought, Therefore they have not acted wisely, And all their flock is scattered.

While you were feeling secure I gave you warning. But you said, "I refuse to listen to you." That is the way you have acted from your earliest history onward. Indeed, you have never paid attention to me.

Lo, days are coming -- an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king hath reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth.

because they have acted foolishly in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives and have spoken words in My name falsely, which I did not command them; and I am He who knows and am a witness,” declares the Lord.’”

"Your majesty, these men have acted wickedly in all they have done to the prophet Jeremiah by throwing him into the cistern. He will die where he is because of the famine since there is no more bread in the city."

This is what the LORD of the Heavenly Armies, the God of Israel, says: "You and your wives have spoken with your mouths and acted with your hands: "We will certainly carry through on the vows that we vowed to offer sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven and pour out liquid offerings to her!" Go ahead, carry through on your vows, and diligently do what you vowed!'

Summon the archers to Babylon,all who string the bow;camp all around her; let none escape.Repay her according to her deeds;just as she has done, do the same to her,for she has acted arrogantly against the Lord,against the Holy One of Israel.

so you will know that I am Yahweh, whose statutes you have not followed and whose ordinances you have not practiced. Instead, you have acted according to the ordinances of the nations around you.”

I will make the land desolate because they have acted unfaithfully.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

“But you were confident in your beauty and acted like a prostitute because of your fame. You lavished your sexual favors on everyone who passed by. Your beauty became his.

Yet you have not merely walked in their ways or done according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you acted more corruptly in all your conduct than they.

“Oholah acted like a prostitute even though she was Mine. She lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians: warriors

Yet she multiplied her acts of promiscuity, remembering the days of her youth when she acted like a prostitute in the land of Egypt

These things will be done to you because you acted like a prostitute with the nations, defiling yourself with their idols.

So I spoke to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening. In the morning I acted just as I was commanded.

This is what the Lord God says: “Because Edom acted vengefully against the house of Judah and incurred grievous guilt by taking revenge on them,

This is what the Lord God says: “Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took revenge with deep contempt, destroying because of their ancient hatred,

I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor which he performed, because they acted for Me,” declares the Lord God.

therefore, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, I will deal with you according to your anger, and according to your envy, by which you acted spitefully against them. I will reveal myself to them when I judge you.

Now, Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made Your name renowned as it is this day, we have sinned, we have acted wickedly.

Yes, their mother is promiscuous;she conceived them and acted shamefully.For she thought, “I will go after my lovers,the men who give me my food and water,my wool and flax, my oil and drink.”

I know Ephraim,and Israel is not hidden from Me.For now, Ephraim,you have acted promiscuously;Israel is defiled.

"But like Adam, they broke the covenant; in this they have acted deceitfully against me.

Israel, do not rejoice jubilantly as the nations do,for you have acted promiscuously, leaving your God.You have loved the wages of a prostituteon every grain-threshing floor.

I guided them with human kindness, with loving reins. I acted toward them like one who removes a yoke from their neck; I bent down and fed them.

I have also spoken to [you through] the prophets,And I gave [them] many visions [to make My will known],And through the prophets I gave parables [to appeal to your sense of right and wrong].

You will have plenty to eat, and your hunger will be fully satisfied; you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has acted wondrously in your behalf. My people will never again be put to shame.

Lately my people have acted like an enemy you strip travelers who thought they were as secure as those who return from war.

"Because you have acted like a wanton prostitute -- a seductive mistress who practices sorcery, who enslaves nations by her harlotry, and entices peoples by her sorcery --

Seek the Lord [search diligently for Him and regard Him as the foremost necessity of your life],All you humble of the landWho have practiced His ordinances and have kept His commandments;Seek righteousness, seek humility [regard them as vital].Perhaps you will be hidden [and pardoned and rescued]In the day of the Lord’s anger.

This is what they get for their pride,because they have taunted and acted arrogantlyagainst the people of the Lord of Hosts.

But my words and my statutes that I gave as commands to my servants the prophets did they not overwhelm your ancestors? And they returned to me: "The LORD of the Heavenly Armies acted toward us just as he planned to do in keeping with our lifestyles and in keeping with our actions.'"

Judah has acted treacherously, and a detestable thing has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned the Lord’s sanctuary, which He loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.

Yet you ask, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have acted treacherously against her, though she was your marriage partner and your wife by covenant.

The rest of the Jews joined him in this hypocrisy [ignoring their knowledge that Jewish and Gentile Christians were united, under the new covenant, into one faith], with the result that even Barnabas was carried away by their hypocrisy.

So that the Law has acted the part of a tutor-slave to lead us to Christ, in order that through faith we may be declared to be free from guilt.

For you know that we acted towards every one of you as a father does towards his own children, encouraging and cheering you,

one who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief.
