'Desires' in the Bible
For those who go after loose women, for those with unnatural desires, for those who take men prisoners, who make false statements and false oaths, and those who do any other things against the right teaching,
who desires that all men should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
This saying is trustworthy: “If anyone aspires to be an overseer, he desires a noble work.”
But do not include younger widows on your list. For whenever their natural desires cause them to lose their devotion to the Messiah, they want to remarry.
But those who want to be rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction.
