'Eating' in the Bible
When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked His disciples, “Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
They observed that some of His disciples were eating their bread with unclean—that is, unwashed—hands.
Then the Pharisees and the scribes asked Him, “Why don’t Your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders, instead of eating bread with ritually unclean hands?”
While they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, “I assure you: One of you will betray Me—one who is eating with Me!”
As they were eating, He took bread, blessed and broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is My body.”
