'First born' in the Bible
And the sons of Reuben, Israel's first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go
And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the first-born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of all the first-born who opens the womb among the sons of Israel. And the Levites shall be mine,
for all the first-born are mine. On the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed to me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast. They shall be mine. I am LORD.
And LORD said to Moses, Number all the first-born males of the sons of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
And thou shall take the Levites for me (I am LORD) instead of all the first-born among the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the sons of Israel.
And Moses numbered, as LORD commanded him, all the first-born among the sons of Israel.
And all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those who were numbered of them, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.
Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle. And the Levites shall be mine. I am LORD.
And for the redemption of the two hundred and seventy-three of the first-born of the sons of Israel, who are over and above [the number of] the Levites,
He took the money from the first-born of the sons of Israel, a thousand three hundred and sixty-five [shekels], according to the shekel of the sanctuary.
For they are wholly given to me from among the sons of Israel; instead of all who open the womb, even the first-born of all the sons of Israel, I have taken them to me.
For all the first-born among the sons of Israel are mine, both man and beast. On the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the sons of Israel.
Everything that opens the womb, of all flesh which they offer to LORD, both of man and beast shall be thine. Nevertheless the first-born of man thou shall surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts thou shall redeem.
