'Intended' in the Bible
For,' I say, 'just as shorts cling tightly to a person's body, so I bound the whole nation of Israel and the whole nation of Judah tightly to me.' I intended for them to be my special people and to bring me fame, honor, and praise. But they would not obey me.
But if that nation I threatened stops doing wrong, I will cancel the destruction I intended to do to it.
The LORD's anger won't turn back until he has accomplished what he intended to do. In the future you will clearly understand it.
Maybe they will pay attention and each of them will stop living the evil way they do. If they do that, then I will forgo destroying them as I had intended to do because of the wicked things they have been doing.
The anger of the Lord will not turn back until he has fully carried out his intended purposes. In days to come you will come to understand this.
