When Joseph's brothers realized that their father loved him more than all of his brothers, they hated him so much that they were unable to speak politely to him.

Josephs brothers were envious and jealous of him, but his father kept the words [of Joseph] in mind [wondering about their meaning].

Then his brothers went to pasture their father’s flock near Shechem.

And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners that were in the prison; and whatsoever they did there, he was the doer of it.

The warden paid no attention to anything that was in Josephs care because the Lord was with him; whatever Joseph did, the Lord made to prosper.

The captain of the guard put Joseph in charge of them, and he served them; and they continued to be in custody for some time.

Then Pharaoh summoned Joseph. So they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; he shaved himself, changed his clothes, and came before Pharaoh.

And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;

But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him.

Portions were served to them from Josephs table, and Benjamin’s portion was five times larger than any of theirs. They drank, and they got intoxicated with Joseph.

Chariots and horsemen also accompanied Joseph, so there were a lot of people.

And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.

Joseph wept when they talked to him. So Joseph's brothers went to visit him, fell prostrate in front of him, and declared, "Look! We're your servants."

Now Joseph and all his father's family went on living in Egypt: and the years of Joseph's life were a hundred and ten.

And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

"From Joseph's descendants through Ephraim: Ammihud's son Elishama. From Manasseh: Pedahzur's son Gamaliel.

The genealogies of Joseph's descendants were recorded individually, according to their tribes and ancestral houses, as were the names of all the men 20 years and above who could serve in the army.

The land allotted to Joseph's descendants extended from the Jordan at Jericho to the waters of Jericho to the east, through the desert and on up from Jericho into the hill country of Bethel.

Joseph's descendants, Manasseh and Ephraim, were assigned their land.

This was the allotment for the tribe of Manasseh as Josephs firstborn. Gilead and Bashan came to Machir, the firstborn of Manasseh and the father of Gilead, who was a man of war.

Now allotments were made with respect to the remaining descendants of Manasseh according to their families: for the descendants of Abiezer, the descendants of Helek, the descendants of Asriel, the descendants of Shechem, the descendants of Hepher, and the descendants of Shemida the male descendants of Joseph's son Manasseh, according to their families.

Josephs descendants said to Joshua, “Why did you give us only one tribal allotment as an inheritance? We have many people, because the Lord has been blessing us greatly.”

So Joshua replied to Josephs family (that is, Ephraim and Manasseh), “You have many people and great strength. You will not have just one allotment,

Then they are to divide it into seven portions. Judah is to remain in its territory in the south and Josephs family in their territory in the north.

The lot came up for the tribe of Benjamin’s descendants by their clans, and their allotted territory lay between Judah’s descendants and Josephs descendants.

Josephs bones, which the Israelites had brought up from Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the parcel of land Jacob had purchased from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for 100 qesitahs. It was an inheritance for Josephs descendants.

For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph's:)
