'Land' in the Bible

When the Lord first spoke to Hosea, He said this to him:Go and marry a promiscuous wifeand have children of promiscuity,for the land is committing blatant acts of promiscuityby abandoning the Lord.

And the Judeans and the Israeliteswill be gathered together.They will appoint for themselves a single rulerand go up from the land.For the day of Jezreel will be great. >

Otherwise, I will strip her nakedand expose her as she was on the day of her birth.I will make her like a desertand like a parched land,and I will let her die of thirst.

There I will give her vineyards back to herand make the Valley of Achorinto a gateway of hope.There she will respond as she didin the days of her youth,as in the day she came out of the land of Egypt.

On that day I will make a covenant for themwith the wild animals, the birds of the sky,and the creatures that crawl on the ground.I will shatter bow, sword,and weapons of war in the landand will enable the people to rest securely.

I will sow her in the land for Myself,and I will have compassionon No Compassion;I will say to Not My People:You are My people,and he will say, “You are My God.”

Hear the word of the Lord, people of Israel,for the Lord has a caseagainst the inhabitants of the land:There is no truth, no faithful love,and no knowledge of God in the land!

For this reason the land mourns,and everyone who lives in it languishes,along with the wild animals and the birds of the sky;even the fish of the sea disappear.

Let us strive to know the Lord.His appearance is as sure as the dawn.He will come to us like the rain,like the spring showers that water the land.

They turn, but not to what is above;they are like a faulty bow.Their leaders will fall by the swordbecause of the cursing of their tongue.They will be ridiculed for this in the land of Egypt.

They will not stay in the land of the Lord.Instead, Ephraim will return to Egypt,and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.

Israel is a lush vine;it yields fruit for itself.The more his fruit increased,the more he increased the altars.The better his land produced,the better they made the sacred pillars.

Israel will not return to the land of Egyptand Assyria will be his king,because they refused to repent.

I have been Yahweh your Godever since the land of Egypt.I will make you live in tents again,as in the festival days.

Jacob fled to the land of Aram.Israel worked to earn a wife;he tended flocks for a wife.

I have been Yahweh your Godever since the land of Egypt;you know no God but Me,and no Savior exists besides Me.

I knew you in the wilderness,in the land of drought.
