'Mouth' in the Bible
“But if you refuse and rebel,You will be devoured by the sword.”Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat and opened its mouth without measure; And Jerusalem’s splendor, her multitude, her din of revelry and the jubilant within her, descend into it.
He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.”
Therefore the Lord does not take pleasure in their young men,Nor does He have pity on their orphans or their widows; For every one of them is godless and an evildoer,And every mouth is speaking foolishness. In spite of all this, His anger does not turn awayAnd His hand is still stretched out.
But with righteousness He will judge the poor,And decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth; And He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,And with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.
Seek from the book of the Lord, and read:Not one of these will be missing;None will lack its mate. For His mouth has commanded,And His Spirit has gathered them.
Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed,And all flesh will see it together; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
“I have sworn by Myself,The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousnessAnd will not turn back,That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.
“I declared the former things long agoAnd they went forth from My mouth, and I proclaimed them.Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.
He has made My mouth like a sharp sword,In the shadow of His hand He has concealed Me;And He has also made Me a select arrow,He has hidden Me in His quiver.
I have put My words in your mouth and have covered you with the shadow of My hand, to establish the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’”
He was oppressed and He was afflicted,Yet He did not open His mouth;Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,So He did not open His mouth.
His grave was assigned with wicked men,Yet He was with a rich man in His death,Because He had done no violence,Nor was there any deceit in His mouth.
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty,Without accomplishing what I desire,And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
“Against whom do you jest?Against whom do you open wide your mouthAnd stick out your tongue? Are you not children of rebellion,Offspring of deceit,
Then you will take delight in the Lord,And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from now and forever.”
The nations will see your righteousness,And all kings your glory; And you will be called by a new nameWhich the mouth of the Lord will designate.
