'Nature' in the Bible
For this reason God gave them up to vile lusts; for both their females changed the natural use into that contrary to nature;
For when those of the nations, which have no law, practise by nature the things of the law, these, having no law, are a law to themselves;
and uncircumcision by nature, fulfilling the law, judge thee, who, with letter and circumcision, art a law-transgressor?
For if thou hast been cut out of the olive tree wild by nature, and, contrary to nature, hast been grafted into the good olive tree, how much rather shall they, who are according to nature be grafted into their own olive tree?
No temptation has taken you but such as is according to man's nature; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able to bear, but will with the temptation make the issue also, so that ye should be able to bear it.
Does not even nature itself teach you, that man, if he have long hair, it is a dishonour to him?
We, Jews by nature, and not sinners of the nations,

through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
But these, whatever things they know not, they speak railingly against; but what even, as the irrational animals, they understand by mere nature, in these things they corrupt themselves.
