'Nor' in the Bible
And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of them that hate thee, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
And king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.
Thus saith Jehovah, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house; for this thing is of me. So they hearkened unto the words of Jehovah, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in; but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the lands.
Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, save only with the king of Israel.
Now therefore let the fear of Jehovah be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with Jehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.
Ye shall not need to fight in this battle : set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem; fear not, nor be dismayed: to-morrow go out against them: for Jehovah is with you.
And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt-offerings in the holy place unto the God of Israel.
Be strong and of good courage, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him; for there is a greater with us than with him:
Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you after this manner, neither believe ye him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?
now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their prosperity for ever; that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.
shall we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the peoples that do these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant, nor any to escape?
Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water; for he mourned because of the trespass of them of the captivity.
we have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
And the rulers knew not whither I went, or what I did; neither had I as yet told it to the Jews, nor to the priests, nor to the nobles, nor to the rulers, nor to the rest that did the work.
Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.
So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard that followed me, none of us put off our clothes, every one went with his weapon to the water.
And these were they that went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but they could not show their fathers houses, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel:
And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto Jehovah your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
Nevertheless in thy manifold mercies thou didst not make a full end of them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies wherewith thou didst testify against them.
and that we would not give our daughters unto the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons;
And I contended with them, and cursed them, and smote certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God,'saying , Ye shall not give your daughters unto their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.
And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maiden was fair and beautiful; and when her father and mother were dead, Mordecai took her for his own daughter.
Esther had not made known her people nor her kindred; for Mordecai had charged her that she should not make it known.

Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast in like manner; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
Then went Haman forth that day joyful and glad of heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up nor moved for him, he was filled with wrath against Mordecai.
and that these days should be remembered and kept throughout every generation, every family, every province, and every city; and that these days of Purim should not fail from among the Jews, nor the remembrance of them perish from their seed.
In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, Nor hid trouble from mine eyes.
How long wilt thou not look away from me, Nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?
So man lieth down and riseth not: Till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, Nor be roused out of their sleep.
He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, Nor any remaining where he sojourned.
These are of them that rebel against the light; They know not the ways thereof, Nor abide in the paths thereof.
The proud beasts have not trodden it, Nor hath the fierce lion passed thereby.
It is not the great that are wise, Nor the aged that understand justice.
That respecteth not the persons of princes, Nor regardeth the rich more than the poor; For they all are the work of his hands.
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
I will not keep silence concerning his limbs, Nor his mighty strength, nor his goodly frame.
If one lay at him with the sword, it cannot avail; Nor the spear, the dart, nor the pointed shaft.
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:
Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the needy shall not alway be forgotten, Nor the expectation of the poor perish for ever.
He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;
He that putteth not out his money to interest, Nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied that give gifts for another god : Their drink-offerings of blood will I not offer, Nor take their names upon my lips.
There is no speech nor language; Their voice is not heard.
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath he hid his face from him; But when he cried unto him, he heard.
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: According to thy lovingkindness remember thou me, For thy goodness'sake, O Jehovah.
Gather not my soul with sinners, Nor my life with men of blood;
Because they regard not the works of Jehovah, Nor the operation of his hands, He will break them down and not build them up.
I have been young, and now am old; Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his seed begging bread.
Jehovah will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.
Blessed is the man that maketh Jehovah his trust, And respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, Nor give to God a ransom for him;
I will take no bullock out of thy house, Nor he-goats out of thy folds.
For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul; The mighty gather themselves together against me: Not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Jehovah.
Blessed be God, Who hath not turned away my prayer, Nor his lovingkindness from me.
For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up.
They remember not his hand, Nor the day when he redeemed them from the adversary;
The enemy shall not exact from him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
But my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, Nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
My covenant will I not break, Nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
For the pestilence that walketh in darkness, Nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
He hath not dealt with us after our sins, Nor rewarded us after our iniquities.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel Will neither slumber nor sleep.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, Nor the moon by night.
Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
Jehovah, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty; Neither do I exercise myself in great matters, Or in things too wonderful for me.
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, Nor go up into my bed;
Put not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: Remove thy foot from evil.
Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids;
While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, Nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
Also to punish the righteous is not good, Nor to smite the noble for their uprightness.
To respect the person of the wicked is not good, Nor to turn aside the righteous in judgment.
There is no wisdom nor understanding Nor counsel against Jehovah.
Remove far from me falsehood and lies; Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is needful for me:
Give not thy strength unto women, Nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; Nor for princes to say , Where is strong drink?
All things are full of weariness; man cannot utter it : the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor anything taken from it; and God hath done it, that men should fear before him.
There is one that is alone, and he hath not a second; yea, he hath neither son nor brother; yet is there no end of all his labor, neither are his eyes satisfied with riches. For whom then,'saith he , do I labor, and deprive my soul of good? This also is vanity, yea, it is a sore travail.
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance, with increase: this also is vanity.
moreover it hath not seen the sun nor known it; this hath rest rather than the other:
When I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes),
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, whither thou goest.
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all.
