The Lord said,“I have made a covenant with My chosen one;I have sworn an oath to David My servant:

Once and for allI have sworn an oath by My holiness;I will not lie to David.

Where are your earlier faithful deeds, O Lord, the ones performed in accordance with your reliable oath to David?

So in my anger I declared an oath: "They are not to enter my place of rest."

So He raised His hand against them with an oaththat He would make them fall in the desert

The Lord of armies has taken an oath by himself, saying, Truly, I will make you full with men as with locusts, and their voices will be loud against you.

"'Then I passed by you and watched you, noticing that you had reached the age for love. I spread my cloak over you and covered your nakedness. I swore a solemn oath to you and entered into a marriage covenant with you, declares the sovereign Lord, and you became mine.

It will seem like false divination in the eyes of those who have sworn an oath to the Babylonians, but it will draw attention to their guilt so that they will be captured.

"Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: "I hereby raise my hand to swear this oath: the nations that surround you will have their own mockery to endure!

The Lord GOD has taken a sacred oath: "The day is coming when they will take you away on fishhooks, every last one of you on fishhooks.

The sovereign Lord confirms this oath by his very own life. The Lord, the God who commands armies, is speaking: "I despise Jacob's arrogance; I hate their fortresses. I will hand over to their enemies the city of Samaria and everything in it."

But Jesus kept silent. Then the high priest said to Him, “By the living God I place You under oath: tell us if You are the Messiah, the Son of God!”

He swore with an oath to her, "I'll give you anything you ask for, up to half of my kingdom."

Although it grieved the king deeply, he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.
