'Off' in the Bible
But recently My people have risen uplike an enemy:You strip off the splendid robefrom those who are passing through confidently,like those returning from war.
You hate good and love evil.You tear off people’s skinand strip their flesh from their bones.
For I will now break off his yoke from youand tear off your shackles.
Your court officials are like the swarming locust,and your scribes like clouds of locusts,which settle on the walls on a cold day;when the sun rises, they take off,and no one knows where they are.
So the Angel of the Lord spoke to those standing before Him, “Take off his filthy clothes!” Then He said to him, “See, I have removed your guilt from you, and I will clothe you with splendid robes.”
People who are far off will come and build the Lord’s temple, and you will know that the Lord of Hosts has sent Me to you. This will happen when you fully obey the Lord your God.”
I am about to raise up a shepherd in the land who will not care for those who are going astray, and he will not seek the lost or heal the broken. He will not sustain the healthy, but he will devour the flesh of the fat sheep and tear off their hooves.
“I baptize you with water for repentance, but the One who is coming after me is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to remove His sandals. He Himself will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of the parts of your body than for your whole body to go into hell!
Now a long way off from them, a large herd of pigs was feeding.
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that house or town.

They will stand far off in fear of her torment, saying:Woe, woe, the great city,Babylon, the mighty city!For in a single houryour judgment has come.
