'One' in the Bible

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body: if there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual one.

Such as he made of dust, such also those made of dust; and such as the heavenly one, such also the heavenly ones.

Therefore, no one should look down on him. Send him on his way in peace so he can come to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.

That ye submit yourselves unto such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboureth.

Grace to you and peace [inner calm and spiritual well-being] from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

But if, on the one hand, we are enduring affliction, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if, on the other hand, we are receiving comfort, it is for your comfort which is produced within you through your patient fortitude under the same sufferings as those which we also are enduring.

He has rescued us from a terrible death, and he will continue to rescue us. Yes, he is the one on whom we have set our hope, and he will rescue us again,

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, the one who was proclaimed among you by us -- by me and Silvanus and Timothy -- was not "Yes" and "No," but it has always been "Yes" in him.

Now it is God who strengthens us, with you, in Christ and has anointed us.

For if I cause you pain, then who will cheer me other than the one being hurt by me?

And if any one hath caused sorrow, he hath not caused sorrow to me, but in part, that I may not burden you all;

If you forgive anyone anything, I too forgive [that one]; and what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of [and with the approval of] Christ,

To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

So that we henceforth have known no one according to the flesh, and even if we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him no more;

[We are] giving no one an occasion for taking offense in anything, in order that our ministry will not have fault found [with it],

So even though I wrote to you, it was not because of the one who did wrong, or because of the one who was wronged, but in order that your diligence for us might be made plain to you in the sight of God.

This led us to urge Titus that, as he had previously been the one who commenced the work, so he should now go and complete among you this act of beneficence also.

At the present time, your abundance will meet their need, so that one day their abundance may also meet your need, and thus there may be equality,

as it is written: "The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little."

and not only this, but he has also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in regard to this gracious offering which we are administering for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our eagerness [as believers to help one another].

We are taking this precaution so no one can criticize us about this large sum administered by us.

Still I send the brethren in order that in this matter our boast about you may not turn out to have been an idle one; so that, as I have said, you may be ready;

Now [the point is] this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

The things in presence do ye see? if any one hath trusted in himself to be Christ's, this let him reckon again from himself, that according as he is Christ's, so also we are Christ's;

because the letters indeed -- saith one -- are weighty and strong, and the bodily presence weak, and the speech despicable.'

Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present.

We do not have the audacity to put ourselves in the same class or compare ourselves with some who [supply testimonials to] commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they lack wisdom and behave like fools.

For if someone comes along and preaches another Jesus than the one we preached, or should you receive a different spirit from the one you received or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you are all too willing to listen.

and being present with you, and having been in want, I was chargeable to no one, for my lack did the brethren supply -- having come from Macedonia -- and in everything burdenless to you I did keep myself, and will keep.

As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

But what I do, that I will go on doing, so that I may give no chance to those who are looking for one; so that, in the cause of their pride, they may be seen to be the same as we are.

I repeat: No one should consider me a fool. But if you do, at least accept me as a fool, so I too may boast a little.

for ye bear, if any one is bringing you under bondage, if any one doth devour, if any one doth take away, if any one doth exalt himself, if any one on the face doth smite you;

in reference to dishonour I speak, how that we were weak, and in whatever any one is bold -- in foolishness I say it -- I also am bold.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, who is praised forever, knows I am not lying.

Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities.

For if I want to boast, I will not be a fool, because I will be telling the truth. But I will spare you, so that no one can credit me with something beyond what he sees in me or hears from me,

I have become a fool. You forced me to be one. Really, I should have been commended by you, for I am not in any way inferior to your "super-apostles," even if I am nothing.

For what is there in which you were made less than the other churches, but in the one thing that I was not a trouble to you? Let me have forgiveness for this wrong.

any one of those whom I have sent unto you -- by him did I take advantage of you?

I begged Titus to visit you, and sent our other brother with him. Did Titus gain any selfish advantage over you? Were not he and I guided by one and the same Spirit, and did we not walk in the same steps?

All this time you have been thinking that we are [merely] defending ourselves to you. It is in the sight of God that we have been speaking [as one] in Christ; and everything, dearly beloved, is to strengthen you [spiritually].

not that another one really exists. To be sure, there are certain people who are troubling you and want to distort the gospel about the Messiah.

as we have said before, and now say again, If any one to you may proclaim good news different from what ye did receive -- anathema let him be!

They were only hearing, "The one who once persecuted us is now proclaiming the good news of the faith he once tried to destroy."

For the one who worked through Peter by making him an apostle to the circumcised also worked through me by sending me to the gentiles.

But if while seeking to be justified in Christ we ourselves have also been found to be sinners, is Christ then one who encourages sin? Absolutely not!

But if I build up again those things I once destroyed, I demonstrate that I am one who breaks God's law.

Therefore does the one who gives you the Spirit and who works miracles among you [do so] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Therefore, those who believe are blessed together with Abraham, the one who believed.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

But the law is not based on faith; instead, the one who does these things will live by them.

Brothers, I’m using a human illustration. No one sets aside or makes additions to even a human covenant that has been ratified.
