'Own' in the Bible
Drink waters out of thine own cistern, And running waters out of thine own well.
His own iniquities shall take the wicked, And he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
He that committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding: He doeth it who would destroy his own soul.
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: All they that hate me love death.
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way; But the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them; But the treacherous shall be taken in their own iniquity.
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul; But he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
He that is stedfast in righteousness'shall attain unto life; And he that pursueth evil doeth it to his own death.
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind; And the foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes; But he that is wise hearkeneth unto counsel.
Every wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.
The heart knoweth its own bitterness; And a stranger doth not intermeddle with its joy.
The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways; And a good man'shall be satisfied from himself.
The poor is hated even of his own neighbor; But the rich hath many friends.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; But he that hateth bribes shall live.
He that refuseth correction despiseth his own soul; But he that hearkeneth to reproof getteth understanding.
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the spirits.
Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; Yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
He that separateth himself seeketh his own desire, And rageth against all sound wisdom.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city, And as a high wall in his own imagination.
He that maketh many friends doeth it to his own destruction; But there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: He that keepeth understanding shall find good.
The terror of a king is as the roaring of a lion: He that provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own life.
Most men will proclaim every one his own kindness; But a faithful man who can find?
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the hearts.
Weary not thyself to be rich; Cease from thine own wisdom.
It is not good to eat much honey: So for men to search out their own glory is grievous.
Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own conceit.
He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool Cutteth off his own feet, and drinketh in damage.
Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? There is more hope of a fool than of him.
The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit Than seven men that can render a reason.
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.
Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; And go not to thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: Better is a neighbor that is near than a brother far off.
Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, He shall fall himself into his own pit; But the perfect shall inherit good.

for oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others.
Look not upon me, because I am swarthy, Because the sun hath scorched me. My mother's sons were incensed against me; They made me keeper of the vineyards; But mine own vineyard have I not kept.
Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
And seven women shall take hold of one man in that day, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name; take thou away our reproach.
Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
And one shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:
And it shall come to pass, that as the chased roe, and as sheep that no man gathereth, they shall turn every man to his own people, and shall flee every man to his own land.
For Jehovah will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the sojourner shall join himself with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
All the kings of the nations, all of them, sleep in glory, every one in his own house.
For in that day they shall cast away every man his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not'sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own water with you?
Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig-tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern;
until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he shall hear tidings, and shall return unto his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
For I will defend this city to save it, for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake; and I will not remember thy sins.
They that fashion a graven image are all of them vanity; and the things that they delight in shall not profit; and their own witnesses see not, nor know: that they may be put to shame.
For mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do it; for how should my name be profaned? and my glory will I not give to another.
And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I, Jehovah, am thy Saviour, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
The Lord Jehovah, who gathereth the outcasts of Israel, saith, Yet will I gather others to him, besides his own that are gathered.
Yea, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are shepherds that cannot understand: they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.
Wherefore have we fasted,'say they , and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find your own pleasure, and exact all your labors.

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, and the holy of Jehovah honorable; and shalt honor it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his own arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it upheld him.
And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me.
I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, that walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;
your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith Jehovah, that have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills; therefore will I first measure their work into their bosom.
He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as he that breaketh a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as he that offereth'swine's blood; he that burneth frankincense, as he that blesseth an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations:
And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and a bitter, that thou hast forsaken Jehovah thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.
In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
if ye oppress not the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:
Do they provoke me to anger? saith Jehovah; do they not provoke themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?
But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baalim, which their fathers taught them;
Then Jehovah said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake I unto them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their own heart.
But they say, It is in vain; for we will walk after our own devices, and we will do every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart.
but, As Jehovah liveth, who brought up and who led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries whither I had driven them. And they shall dwell in their own land.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they teach you vanity; they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Jehovah.
They say continually unto them that despise me, Jehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and unto every one that walketh in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, No evil shall come upon you.
How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
And the burden of Jehovah shall ye mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of Jehovah of hosts our God.
Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith Jehovah; that ye may provoke me to anger with the work of your hands to your own hurt.
Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? did he not fear Jehovah, and entreat the favor of Jehovah, and Jehovah repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls.
And all the nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his own land come: and then many nations and great kings shall make him their bondman.
But the nation that shall bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, that nation will I let remain in their own land, saith Jehovah; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.
Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thine own name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be builded upon its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.
And there is hope for thy latter end, saith Jehovah; and thy children shall come again to their own border.
But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say to the king of Judah, that sent you unto me to inquire of me: Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.
And I will grant you mercy, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.
For ye have dealt deceitfully against your own souls; for ye sent me unto Jehovah your God, saying, Pray for us unto Jehovah our God; and according unto all that Jehovah our God shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it:
Therefore now thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your own souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you none remaining;
Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?
He made many to stumble, yea, they fell one upon another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.
Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people, and they shall flee every one to his own land.
We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country; for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies.
