'Sayings' in the Bible
To know wisdom and instruction, to understand sayings of understanding,
On a {busy corner} she cries out, at the entrances of the gates in the city, she speaks her sayings:
My child, if you will receive my sayings, and hide my commands with you,
[in order] to deliver you from a strange woman, from a foreign woman [who] flatters [with] her sayings,
Get wisdom and insight; do not forget and do not turn from the sayings of my mouth.
Listen, my child, take my sayings, and [the] years of your life shall be great.
Now, O children, listen to me; do not depart from the sayings of my mouth.
[if] you are snared by the sayings of your mouth, [if] you are caught by the sayings of your mouth,
My child, guard my sayings; store my commandments with you.
And now, my children, listen to me, and be attentive to the sayings of my mouth.
All sayings of my mouth [are] in righteousness; none of them are twisted and crooked.
Pleasant sayings [are] a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and healing to the bones.
He who spares his sayings knows knowledge, and a cool spirit is a man of understanding.
Cease to listen to instruction, my child, {and you will stray} from sayings of knowledge.
Have I not written for you thirty [sayings] with admonitions and knowledge?
[In order] to show you what is right--sayings of truth-- [in order] to return a true saying to him who sent you.
Apply your heart to instruction, and your ear to sayings of knowledge.
These [sayings] are also for the wise: {Partiality} in judgment is not good.
