'Sins' in the Bible
Therefore he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
For every high priest is taken from among the people and appointed to represent them before God, to offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
He has no need to do every day what those priests do, to offer sacrifices first for their own sins and then for the sins of the people, since he did this in offering himself once for all.
"For I will be merciful toward their evil deeds, and their sins I will remember no longer."
But only the high priest enters once a year into the inner tent, and not without blood that he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.
so also, after Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, to those who eagerly await him he will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to bring salvation.
But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year after year.
For the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins.
And every priest stands day after day serving and offering the same sacrifices again and again -- sacrifices that can never take away sins.
But when this priest had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right hand of God,
then he says, "Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no longer."
For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us,
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick and the Lord will raise him up -- and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.
he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person's soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.
Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.
Above all keep your love for one another fervent, because love covers a multitude of sins.
But concerning the one who lacks such things -- he is blind. That is to say, he is nearsighted, since he has forgotten about the cleansing of his past sins.
But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.
and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.
I am writing to you, little children, that your sins have been forgiven because of his name.
And you know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.
Everyone who resides in him does not sin; everyone who sins has neither seen him nor known him.
In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
and from Jesus Christ -- the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood
Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, so you will not take part in her sins and so you will not receive her plagues,
because her sins have piled up all the way to heaven and God has remembered her crimes.
