Many people sternly told him to be quiet, but he started shouting even louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

Then the chief priests and the scribes heard it and started looking for a way to destroy Him. For they were afraid of Him, because the whole crowd was astonished by His teaching.

Jesus began to speak to them [the chief priests, scribes and elders who were questioning Him] in parables: “A man planted a vineyard and put a wall around it, and dug a pit for the wine press and built a tower; and he rented it out to tenant farmers and left the country.

And when they heard this, they were glad and promised to give him silver. So he started looking for a good opportunity to betray Him.

Then he started to curse and to swear with an oath, “I don’t know this man you’re talking about!”

So they went out and started running from the tomb, because trembling and astonishment overwhelmed them. And they said nothing to anyone, since they were afraid.

after staying the full number of days, when they started back home the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem. His parents did not discover this,

They thought that he was in their group of travelers. After traveling for a day, they started looking for him among their relatives and friends.

When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear.

The Pharisees and their scribes started complaining to Jesus' disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"

They, however, were filled with rage and started discussing with one another what they might do to Jesus.

Now Jesus started on His way with them; and when He was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, “Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to come under my roof;

One day, Jesus and his disciples got into a boat. He told them, "Let's cross to the other side of the lake." So they started out.

and as they sailed he fell asleep. Now a violent windstorm came down on the lake, and the boat started filling up with water, and they were in danger.

For Jesus had started commanding the evil spirit to come out of the man. (For it had seized him many times, so he would be bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard. But he would break the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.)

Then all the people from the region surrounding the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were terrified. So he got into a boat and started back.

Then an argument started among them about who would be the greatest of them.

The people at the front of the crowd sternly told him to be quiet, but he started shouting even louder, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

So he accepted the offer and started looking for a good opportunity to betray Him to them when the crowd was not present.

A dispute also started among them over which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.

But they kept insisting, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee where He started even to here.”

(This was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection started in the city, and for murder.)

The people left the town and started on their way to him.

Jesus told him, "Go home. Your son will live." The man believed what Jesus told him and started back home.

Instantly the man got well, picked up his mat, and started to walk.Now that day was the Sabbath,

got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. Darkness had already set in, but Jesus had not yet come to them.

Therefore the Jews started complaining about Him because He said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”

They asked this to trap Him, in order that they might have evidence to accuse Him.Jesus stooped down and started writing on the ground with His finger.

The disciples started looking at one another—uncertain which one He was speaking about.

Peter and the other disciple started at once to go to the tomb, both of them running,

So he jumped up, stood, and started to walk, and he entered the temple complex with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.

And Saul gave approval to his death. Now at that time a violent attack was started against the church in Jerusalem; and all but the Apostles went away into all parts of Judaea and Samaria.

After they had given their testimony and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, continuing to proclaim the good news in many Samaritan villages.

So Philip started speaking, and beginning with this scripture proclaimed the good news about Jesus to him.

He immediately started to preach about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, "This is the Son of God."

Those who had been scattered as a result of the persecution that started because of Stephen made their way as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the message to no one except Jews.

But the Jewish leaders stirred up devout women of high social standing and the officials in the city, started a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their territory.

Paul said in a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” And he jumped up and started to walk around.

And they started to call Barnabas, Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the main speaker.

Then some men came down from Judea and started to teach the brothers, "Unless you are circumcised according to the Law of Moses, you can't be saved."

But the Jewish leaders became jealous, and they took some contemptible characters who used to hang out in the public square, formed a mob, and started a riot in the city. They attacked Jason's home and searched it for Paul and Silas in order to bring them out to the people.

But when they found out that he was a Jew, they all started to shout in unison for about two hours, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

When the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples; and, after speaking words of encouragement to them, he took his leave, and started for Macedonia.

When our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while they all, with wives and children, escorted us until we were out of the city. After kneeling down on the beach and praying, we said farewell to one another.

After these days we got ready and started on our way up to Jerusalem.

The tribune asked, "Oh, do you speak Greek? You're not the Egyptian who started a revolt some time ago and led 4,000 assassins into the desert, are you?"

as also the high priest and all the Council of the elders can testify. From them I also received letters to the brethren, and started off for Damascus in order to bring even those who were there to Jerusalem as prisoners to be punished.

So we urged Titus to finish this work of kindness among you in the same way that he had started it.

I am giving you my opinion on this matter because it will be helpful to you. Last year you were not only willing to do something, but had already started to do it.
