'Surely' in the Bible
therefore thus says the Lord God, “Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for a prey.”
Therefore thus says the Lord God, ‘I have sworn that surely the nations which are around you will themselves endure their insults.

The Lord utters His voice before His army;Surely His camp is very great,For strong is he who carries out His word.The day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome,And who can endure it?
Surely the Lord God does nothingUnless He reveals His secret counselTo His servants the prophets.
“I will surely assemble all of you, Jacob,I will surely gather the remnant of Israel.I will put them together like sheep in the fold;Like a flock in the midst of its pastureThey will be noisy with men.
“Surely the stone will cry out from the wall,And the rafter will answer it from the framework.

“I said, ‘Surely you will revere Me,Accept instruction.’So her dwelling will not be cut offAccording to all that I have appointed concerning her.But they were eager to corrupt all their deeds.
Then he said to me, “This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side.
Being deeply grieved, they each one began to say to Him, “Surely not I, Lord?”
And Judas, who was betraying Him, said, “Surely it is not I, Rabbi?” Jesus *said to him, “You have said it yourself.”
A little later the bystanders came up and said to Peter, “Surely you too are one of them; for even the way you talk gives you away.”
They began to be grieved and to say to Him one by one, “Surely not I?”
But again he denied it. And after a little while the bystanders were again saying to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean too.”
Others were saying, “This is the Christ.” Still others were saying, “Surely the Christ is not going to come from Galilee, is He?
So the Jews were saying, “Surely He will not kill Himself, will He, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”

“Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?”
But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? Indeed they have;“Their voice has gone out into all the earth,And their words to the ends of the world.”
But I say, surely Israel did not know, did they? First Moses says,“I will make you jealous by that which is not a nation,By a nation without understanding will I anger you.”
saying, “I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you.”
