Woe to you! You build the tombs of the prophets whom your ancestors killed.

So you are witnesses and approve of the deeds of your ancestors, because they killed those for whom you are building monuments.

For this reason also the wisdom of God said, 'I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,'

But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been received because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man [on the cross], you will know then [without any doubt] that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own authority, but I say these things just as My Father taught Me.

Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

His neighbours, therefore, and the other people to whom he had been a familiar object because he was a beggar, began asking, "Is not this the man who used to sit and beg?"

and they asked them, saying, 'Is your son, of whom ye say that he was born blind? how then now doth he see?'

Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.

Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus' sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

Truly I say to you, He who takes to his heart anyone whom I send, takes me to his heart; and he who so takes me, takes him who sent me.

Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved leaned back against Jesus' chest and asked him, "Lord, who is it?"

Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

'I ask in regard to them; not in regard to the world do I ask, but in regard to those whom Thou hast given to me, because Thine they are,

Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.

Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He; so if you want Me, let these men go on their way.”

that the word might be fulfilled that he said -- 'Those whom Thou hast given to me, I did not lose of them even one.'

And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

Any to whom you give forgiveness, will be made free from their sins; and any from whom you keep back forgiveness, will still be in their sins.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

Now on one of these days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters (a gathering of about a hundred and twenty believers was there) and he said,

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show of these two the one whom thou hast chosen,
