'Words' in the Bible
These proverbs are for gaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight;
in understanding proverbs, clever sayings, words of the wise, and their riddles.
She calls out at the busiest part of the noisy streets, and at the entrance to the gates of the city she utters her words:
Return to my correction! Look, I will pour out my spirit on you, and I will make my words known to you.
delivering you from the adulteress, from the immoral woman with her seductive words,
Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget or turn aside from the words of my mouth!
Listen, my son: accept my words, and you'll live a long, long time.
My son, pay attention to my words, and listen closely to what I say.
trapped by your own words, and caught by your own words,
to protect you from the evil woman, from the words of the seductive woman.
so they can keep you from an adulterous woman, from the immoral woman with her seductive words.
Blessings come upon the head of the righteous, but the words of the wicked conceal violence.
