'Blessed' in the Bible
whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you,And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.For the Lord is a God of justice;How blessed are all those who long for Him.
How blessed will you be, you who sow beside all waters,Who let out freely the ox and the donkey.
“Look to Abraham your fatherAnd to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain;When he was but one I called him,Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”
“How blessed is the man who does this,And the son of man who takes hold of it;Who keeps from profaning the sabbath,And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”
Then their offspring will be known among the nations,And their descendants in the midst of the peoples.All who see them will recognize themBecause they are the offspring whom the Lord has blessed.
“Because he who is blessed in the earthWill be blessed by the God of truth;And he who swears in the earthWill swear by the God of truth;Because the former troubles are forgotten,And because they are hidden from My sight!
“They will not labor in vain,Or bear children for calamity;For they are the offspring of those blessed by the Lord,And their descendants with them.
