'Burden' in the Bible
I hate your New Moons and prescribed festivals. They have become a burden to Me;I am tired of putting up with them.
On that dayhis burden will fall from your shoulders, and his yoke from your neck. The yoke will be broken because of fatness.
I will break Assyria in My land;I will tread him down on My mountain. Then his yoke will be taken from them, and his burden will be removed from their shoulders.
They will hang on him the whole burden of his father’s house: the descendants and the offshoots—all the small vessels, from bowls to every kind of jar.
Bel crouches; Nebo cowers.Their idols are consigned to beasts and cattle. The images you carry are loaded,as a burden for the weary animal.
The gods cower; they crouch together;they are not able to rescue the burden, but they themselves go into captivity.
