'Choose' in the Bible

So that my soul would choose suffocation,Death rather than my pains.

“How then can I answer Him,And choose my words before Him?

“For your guilt teaches your mouth,And you choose the language of the crafty.

“Let us choose for ourselves what is right;Let us know among ourselves what is good.

“Shall He recompense on your terms, because you have rejected it?For you must choose, and not I;Therefore declare what you know.
