'Cutoff' in the Bible

And a mongrel race will dwell in Ashdod,And I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

I will cut off the chariot from EphraimAnd the horse from Jerusalem;And the bow of war will be cut off.And He will speak peace to the nations;And His dominion will be from sea to sea,And from the River to the ends of the earth.

“It will come about in that day,” declares the Lord of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land.

“It will come about in all the land,”Declares the Lord,“That two parts in it will be cut off and perish;But the third will be left in it.

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.
