'Defile' in the Bible
"'By these you defile yourselves; anyone who touches their carcass will be unclean until the evening,
Do not make yourselves detestable by any of the swarming things. You must not defile yourselves by them and become unclean by them,
for I am the Lord your God and you are to sanctify yourselves and be holy because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves by any of the swarming things that creep on the ground,
"'Do not defile yourselves with any of these things, for the nations which I am about to drive out before you have been defiled with all these things.
So do not make the land vomit you out because you defile it just as it has vomited out the nations that were before you.
You must obey my charge to not practice any of the abominable statutes that have been done before you, so that you do not defile yourselves by them. I am the Lord your God.'"
The Lord said to Moses: "Say to the priests, the sons of Aaron -- say to them, 'For a dead person no priest is to defile himself among his people,
and his virgin sister who is near to him, who has no husband; he may defile himself for her.
He must not defile himself as a husband among his people so as to profane himself.
He must not go where there is any dead person; he must not defile himself even for his father and his mother.
